Season 5 Rule Book

1. Information
1.1. The Warcraft Olympics is an international Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne League.
1.2. WCOs home channel is WCO on any server.
1.3. The default Garena channel is the WCO League Room.

2. Definitions
2.1. Clan: Participating teams will be referred to as "Clan". Each clan must consist of at least 4 players.
2.2. Team Manager: A Team Manager is responsible for a Clan and is the entity that will receive the prize if its clan wins.
2.3. Team Champion: The team champion is the only player on the team who plays more than 1 match. The champion will play 4 games, all 3 of the opposing teams challengers and the opponents champion.
2.4. Challenger: The challenger plays against the opposing team champion. Each team has 3 challengers, each player plays once in a clan war.  

3. Competing System
3.1. Qualifiers

3.5. Clan war
3.5.1. Each team on a clan war has 1 Team Champion and 3 Challengers. The team champion for one team will play all 3 challengers on the opposing team. A match between both champions will also be played. This will result in 7 total 1v1 matches.
3.5.2. All series are best of 1
3.5.3. Team is awarded 1 point per match won, even if the winning player is a challenger. No points will be given for a loss.
3.6. Maps
3.6.1. Champion vs Champion map of the series will be posted by WCO admins, the remaining maps are decided by the Challenger.
3.6.2. Map Veto System
3.6.2.1. Before the start of the war, both team champions will decide on 2 maps to veto from map pool. Failure to announce veto map before the 2nd game will result in the loss of veto power.
3.6.2.2. A champion may play a map only once in a given war. After each match, the map played will be vetoed for future matches against that champion.
3.6.2.3. Each champion will have their own map pool. The pool starts with 8 maps, the weeks champion map is removed and the champions veto maps will also be removed. The first challenger must then choose from a pool of 6 maps. In accordance to rule 3.6.2.4, a map may only be used once. Each succeeding challenger must play on a different map.

4. Lineups
4.1. The line-ups are to be submitted by the team manager via email (WCOLeague@gmail.com) at least 30 minutes before the match scheduled time.
4.2 Line-ups will be posted 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
4.3 Line-ups cannot be changed once they are posted.
4.4 Line-ups will not be accepted beyond the match schedule time, and the match will result in a forfeit win in favor of the team that submitted their line up.
4.5. If the clan war is played in 2 parts under 5.2: The first part of the clan war email will include complete lineup of all matches even if the second part is not played yet. You do not have to resubmit the lineup again, nor can you change the players in the original lineup.
4.6. Each line-up must include 1 Team Champion and 3 Challengers.



5. Scheduling
5.1. Team's managers are responsible for scheduling a clan war.
5.1.1. Team should have at least 1 manager.
5.1.2 At least one manager on each team must have an MSN account.
5.2. The clan war can be split into 2 parts, meaning 2 matches can be played at the same time.
5.3. One playweek will be from Thursday to Wednesday.
5.6. If a player fails to show 20 minutes after the clan war time, the team manager must either subcard or forfeit that series.5.7. Subcard
5.7.1. Each team receives 3 subcards per regular season.
5.7.2. A subcard lets the team replace one challenger on the lineup with another player who is not the teams champion and is eligible in the team roster or one team champion with another player who is eligible in the teams roster.
5.7.3. A subcard can be used when a player is late or doesn't show for war.
5.7.4. You can use 2 subcards during the entirety of Qualifier and 1 for the Playoffs/Playdowns.
5.7.5. A subcard cannot be used on a team champion after he has played at least 1 of his matches. If the champion cannot finish the remainder of his matches, they become forfeits unless both teams and an admin agree to postpone the matches.
5.7.6. A subcard may be used to swap a challenger currently in the line-up with the champion as long as no matches in the clan war have been played by either player. The swapped player will then become the teams new champion and must play all 4 matches.
5.7.7. Only one subcard may be used per playweek.
5.8 Wildcards
5.8.1. There will be NO wildcards used at ANY time.
5.8.2. No matches will be delayed unless the admins postpone it for a very serious reason.
5.9. When a time has been decided upon by both teams, the manager of each team must send an email to WCOLeague@gmail.com with the time and date of the match. .5 penalty points may be given to any team who fails to send the email.

6. Roster
6.1. Added players are eligible to play in any wars one (1) playweek after they have been added.
6.2. Players can only play on one team roster.
6.2.1 Players who play on another team tag simultaneously for any prized competition or any other skilled competitive league can be considered "Double Tagging" and may be banned from the competition.
6.3. Managers that are listed on the team profile are eligible to play in that teams clan war.
6.4. If a team merges, they must notify the admins immediately.
6.4.1. If both teams that merge are in the league, all of the players will be eligible for any wars, but if they are merging with an outside team, than the standard one week eligibility rule will take place for any new players.

7. Replays
7.1. It is the team champions job to save all replays if no admin is present.
7.2. Replays have to be send through email to WCOLeague@gmail.com by the team manager as soon as possible.
7.3. Failure to send a replay within 48 hours of when the series was played, may result in 0.5 penalty points against the team committing the infraction.

8. Hosting/Lag
8.1. Hosting
8.1.1. The host must be agreed on by both players.
8.1.1.1. Player(s) that refuse or cannot use GG-Client will allow opposing player(s) to select host for first match. (Listchecker will be used if its available)
8.1.2. If host can't be agreed on, admin will pick or host the game.
8.1.3. If the game is laggy the game can be saved and re-hosted if agreed by both players. Leaving a game without agreement by other player consent constitutes a forfeit.
8.1.4. If the host is laggy you must leave immediately after game has started. Leaving a game after 2 minute mark constitute as a forfeit unless agreed by both players.
8.1.4.1. If a player scouts or there is interactions between the 2 players the 8.1.4. rule no longer applies.
8.1.5. You are not allowed to start a game without an admin unless given permission.
8.1.6. The game must be hosted under these parameters:
8.1.6.1. Game must be set on fast.
8.1.6.2. Observers must be set to “Full observers.”
8.1.6.3. Team lock must be on
8.1.6.4. Random Heroes must be off.
8.1.6.5. Random Races must be off.
8.1.6.6. Fog of War must be on.
8.1.6.7. “Full” unit sharing must be off.
8.1.7. Races must be determined before game is started. If player change race during countdown, the other player may leave game immediately after game is started if he wish, or the rule no longer apply after 2 minute mark or there is any interactions.
8.2. Disconnection
8.2.1. If a player disconnects before the 2 minute mark, a regame will be called.
8.2.2. If a player scouts or there is interactions between the 2 players the 8.2.1. rule no longer applies.
8.2.3. If a player disconnects after the 2 minute mark, the game is forfeit unless both players agree to re play the match or a present admin calls a re-game or a win for the disconnecting player.

9. Penalty
9.1. Penalty Point system
9.1.1. Penalty Points are assigned to a clan and are cumulative over the season.
9.1.2. Penalty points may only be assigned by a WCO admin.
9.1.3. Three (3) penalty points will result in the loss of two (2) points from the team’s standings.
9.1.3.1 Four (4) penalty points accumulated during qualifier or 1 clan war forfeit will result in disqualification from a WCO qualifier.
9.1.3.2 Seven (7) penalty points accumulated during regular season will result in disqualification from the WCO regular season.
9.1.4. 1 penalty point will be given for each map forfeit.
9.1.5. Penalty points may be assigned for (but not limited to):
9.1.5.1. Poor player conduct (including “bad manner” behavior).
9.1.5.2. Any activity judged to impede the progress of the clan match.
9.1.5.3. Team Leaders not sufficiently performing their duties.
9.1.5.4. Any other misconduct as judged by an admin.
9.1.6. Multiple penalty points may be assigned for one activity.
9.2. Severe Misconduct
9.2.1. Some activities are beyond the scope of the Penalty Point system. They include (but are not limited to):
9.2.1.1. Use of third-party programs (“map-hacking”).
9.2.1.2. Roster abuse (“double-tagging”)
9.2.1.3. Misleading the admins.
9.2.1.4. Other misconducts as judged by the senior admin staff.
9.2.2. These misconducts may result in the ban of a player or even a team from the league from a season or even forever.

10. Miscellaneous
10.1. Teams are supposed to know and follow all of the rules.
10.2. Just because something isn't listed here it doesn't mean you can abuse it.
10.3. Rules might be bent depending on the situation and it's circumstances.
